Graphics tablet for blueprints?
June 19th, 2009 | by admin |I’m planning on doing a little bit of remodeling work in my home. I wanted to plan out how I wanted the interior to look when I’m done, but I’m not really a draftsman or an architect and don’t really know my way around an official blueprint. I was trying to put something together just in Photoshop but it’s obviously not quite made for it, and it’s a pain using the mouse for stuff like that. At least for me. I wanted to make it digitally so I could edit it more easily if I changed my mind about something. I decided to get a graphics tablet for my notebook PC so that I could sketch it out first and then trace it into the computer.
I was looking into different models of drawing tablets and read some reviews for the Genius Pensketch that I liked so I think I’m going to buy that on. I like the size of it, it seems big enough for my needs for the blueprinting idea. There were a couple of other tablets that I looked at including the Adesso Cybertablet and the Wacom Intuos, but the Pensketch looked more rugged, and I abuse my gadgets a bit… but not intentionally. We’ll see how the process goes. I’ll take pictures along the way to chart my progress when I’m remodeling, so who knows, maybe I can use the mouse tablet to help with the photo editing for that as well.
