Australia is an example of a commodity producing country that has benefited from the heavy demand for raw materials from countries such as China and India. The Australia currency has appreciated heavily and has been helped along by interest rates which have been rising and encouraging foreign investment. This trend looks set to continue into 2008 unless worldwide economic conditions put a dampener on demand from China.
