A Deadly Lung Disease

January 7th, 2009 | by admin |

Small cell lung cancer also known as Oat cell lung cancer spreads more quickly than non-small cell lung cancer. The three types of small cell lung cancer are: mixed small cell/large cell carcinoma, small cell carcinoma and combined small cell carcinoma. Most of the small cell lung cancers are oat cell type. Oat cell lung cancer disease is more common in men than women. The main cause for this type of cancer is smoking and therefore it is rarely diagnosed in people who never smoke. This cancer is the most aggressive form of cancer and starts in the bronchi in the center of the chest. Even though the cancer cells are small in size, they tend to grow fast and create a tumor.
