Pumps come in various sizes, the small pumps ranging from 1/20 to 1/8 Hp and the monster pumps from 2.5 to 3 Hp. Spas use high volume pumps for their hot tubs. Large volume of water is pumped through high volume pumps as these pumps are rated in GPM that is gallons per minute. People generally get confused with high volume pump and high pressure pumps which are rated as PSI (pounds per square inch). High pressure spa pumps are used by and large for car wash as water comes is forced out of the hose in great pressure and less volume.
