If you are fortunate to be traveling on I-5 through Oregon you may want to stop in Roseburg. The Douglas County Master Gardeners have put together a masterpiece near a beautiful county park. The park is River Forks Park and you can get directions from the visitor center. The Master Gardens call their creation the Discovery Garden. It is composed of a Japanese garden, A children's garden, a raised bed garden, an orchard, a rose garden, a hedge row garden, a butterfly garden, a xerioscape garden, a handicap access garden and a compost garden. In the compost garden you will find demonstrations of many methods of composting including worm composting. Stop by, relax and enjoy the gardens.
