Weight Gain And Menopause
May 10th, 2008 | by admin |If you are going through the change of life, your life may seem like a roller coaster ride. Not only do you have to battle memory loss, hot flashes and mood swings but you have likely noticed you are putting on weight as well. Why do you have to experience menopause and weight gain together?
One piece of good news is that weight gain during menopause is probably not your fault. Studies have shown that changes in your body during menopause is the real cause. Some of the causes of weight gain can be contributed to a shift in estrogen, reduced physical activity, slowing metabolism and stress.
The weight is easily removed by exercise or diet. Reduce your calorie intake to around 1200 to 1500 calories a day and get 30 to 60 minutes of exercise three times a week. The weight will come off and you will feel better about yourself.
